We never place someone in a group simply to fill a space. Age is a guide, but we also consider actual level, goals and availability.

Much more than homework help
We develop the skills students need to use the language. School support may form part of a lesson, but it does not replace genuinely learning English.
Some things overlap, but a lot doesn't. Our coursebook moves faster than the school one, so that the big jump in level at secondary school doesn't catch them out. Even when a topic looks the same, we don't always cover the same grammar point: they still need to study for their school exams, but it should feel easier.
The age group is a guide, not a rule. Because our coursebook is more advanced, sometimes a student fits their year group and sometimes it's better to start one level lower so they succeed from day one. Many students in a "lower" group are still working above their school level, and those who love English… move up a group!
It depends on the teacher, but never more than a few minutes' work. It's mainly to keep in touch with the material between classes.
For primary we use Big Bright Ideas.
Yes. We do a trial week to make sure they can keep up with the group.
