At Simply English, our team was not built from CVs alone. Many of the people who support the academy today came into our lives in unexpected ways.

Director, founder and teacher
Maxime Rose Lanman
Teenagers · Adults · Exam preparation
Maxime founded Simply English after starting to teach independently in 2017. She has taught English since 2009 and holds a degree in Humanities as well as TEFL training. She is a native English speaker and bilingual in English and Spanish.
She currently works mainly with teenagers and adults, particularly in exam preparation. She loves grammar, explaining ideas in different ways and supporting students until they begin to trust what they know.
She loves grammar and being a little like an older sister to her students.

Deputy director and administration manager
Carmen
Carmen has been part of Simply English since the academy opened in 2018 and is fundamental to its daily operation. She manages administration, reception and many important day-to-day decisions, and can represent Maxime when she is unavailable.
She speaks Spanish and English and, after years of listening to Maxime's explanations, can also help students at reception when they have questions about homework or grammar.
Sometimes Maxime starts a grammar song in class and Carmen continues it from reception.

Administration, marketing and creative projects
Almudena
Almudena combines administrative work with marketing and Simply English's creative projects. She brings ideas for decorating the academy, organising activities and trips, and helping the space continue to grow in an original and enjoyable way.
She has an artistic background and created the academy's main mural as well as one of the classroom murals. She is creative, observant, fun and excellent at connecting with both children and adults.
She is always thinking of the next idea that can bring a little more colour to the academy.

Administration and budgeting
Natalia
Natalia helps organise budgets, payments, invoices and the academy's day-to-day financial monitoring. Her work helps us understand which resources are available and how to use them to keep improving what we offer our students.
She is hardworking, resourceful, approachable and completely dependable. If she does not know how to do something, she researches it and finds a solution.
She prepares the budget so we can keep having fun—even if she sometimes has to remind Maxime that she cannot buy any more games this month.

Elena

Elena is a patient, caring and creative teacher who knows how to make her students feel comfortable. Her calm and approachable manner creates an environment where it is much easier to participate, make mistakes and learn.
She also helps resolve classroom situations, shares materials and supports teachers who are joining the team.
A rocker at heart, wonderfully gentle in class and always with the academy's most beautiful nails.

Rosa
Primary · Teenagers · Adults
Rosa holds a degree in English Studies from the University of Seville and completed part of her studies at the University of Manchester during Erasmus. She has certified C2 English and B1 Italian, experience as a Spanish Language Assistant, teaching placements and all the experience gained teaching at Simply English since 2020.
Organised, cheerful and full of energy, Rosa gets her students working incredibly hard while they feel as though they are playing. It is difficult to enter one of her lessons without hearing her now-famous, ‘Hello, my friends!’

Ángeles
Ángeles speaks Spanish and English at native level and is currently studying for a degree in Pharmacy. Her experience as a dancer and model has taught her the value of discipline, consistency and working towards her goals.
She loves helping children enjoy learning and see English as something they like, not simply another school subject.

Marta
C1 English
Marta has known Simply English since she was a teenager, when she first joined the academy as a student. She has C1 English and is currently training in the Simply English teaching approach.
She loves music and art, is highly creative and has a special ability to connect with children. She enjoys turning any activity into something fun and sharing that enthusiasm in class.
Creative, cheerful and able to turn almost any activity into a game.
Teacher
Patri
Patri holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and a master's in Language Development and Communication Difficulties. She has C1 English and B1 French. Before joining the team, she was a Simply English student and achieved her C1 here.
She has spent approximately eighteen months covering classes and supporting the team whenever needed. She is kind, patient and approachable, and her manner helps students feel comfortable in class.
